HI! I'm Shikita
Hello! My name is Shikita, and I'm the proud mom of five wonderful children—two girls and three boys—and a brand-new grandma to a six-month-old bundle of joy. Becoming a teen mom taught me resilience early, and that same determination still guides my life today.
I've been preparing taxes for 15 years. The journey began after I was audited by the IRS and discovered my preparer wouldn't help me. Determined never to feel that powerless again, I taught myself the tax code, completed a formal course, and started filing returns for relatives. Word of mouth turned family favors into a thriving client base, and I eventually launched my own tax-preparation business. Today I balance that work with serving as an active mentor for Cross-Taylor Mentor for Success, a nonprofit that gives young adults the extra guidance and support they need to thrive.
I married my high-school sweetheart, and although we shared 14 years together and raised four of our children side by side, we ultimately grew in different directions and divorced; his passing in 2023 was a profound loss. Those experiences—early motherhood, entrepreneurship, grief, and growth—shape how I show up for others. When I'm not crunching numbers, I work as a case manager, helping clients navigate challenging situations with empathy and practical know-how.
My Commitment to You!
We manage over 600 clients nationwide and I truly enjoy helping those families and business with their taxes. My goal is to handle your diverse tax needs while giving each of you the personal attention you deserve. The Taxpayer Bill of Rights says, “Taxpayers have the right to pay no more than the correct amount of tax.” So, my intention is to look out for your bottom line by legally minimizing your tax liability so that you can keep the most money in your pocket. I'm also dedicated to helping other tax preparers grow their business by providing training, mentorship, and a business opportunities.
